The BRICS Tax Support Network is a collaborative initiative developed by the tax administrations of BRICS countries to facilitate business activity, improve investor confidence, and provide clearer guidance on tax matters across jurisdictions. It was formally endorsed by BRICS Tax Heads in September 2024 setting the goal to promote operational and investment activity through improved taxpayer assistance and the creation of a unified digital platform.
Launched in 2025, the Network enables coordinated responses to tax-related requests. Two rounds of cross-border exchanges were conducted. They covered issues such as company registration, taxation of specific transactions including those involving international corporate structures, and tax refunds. In their feedbacks, large taxpayers expressed high-level satisfaction with the quality and completeness of the answers.
To complement the exchange mechanism, the
BRICS Tax Knowledge Hub was introduced as a prototype in 2024, aimed at consolidating verified resources from national tax authorities and provide user-friendly access to tax guides, procedures, and official e?services. It is designed to function as an authoritative source of tax information and a practical interface for foreign taxpayers seeking clarity in cross?border operations. The full launch is planned for 2026, with content structured around the needs of businesses, investors, and professionals engaged in international activity.
Together, the Tax Support Network and Knowledge Hub form a unified system for improving the clarity, responsiveness, and consistency of tax administration across BRICS countries. By lowering informational and procedural barriers, the initiative contributes directly to enhancing the investment climate and facilitating smoother business integration across member states. Looking ahead to 2026, future work will focus on scaling up the Network’s capabilities and launching the Hub to ensure sustained support for BRICS taxpayers.
